Krystian Kopka

Krystian joined the lab in 2020 and is an undergraduate student at the Grove School of Engineering, City College of the City University of New York, pursuing dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Geology. He has participated in the NSF funded Northwest Passage Project as a physical oceanography scientist and is a NOAA CESSRST Undergraduate Fellow. His research interests include physical and biogeochemical processes in coastal and polar oceans, atmosphere-ocean-cryosphere interactions, and improving our understanding of the physical/ chemical processes that maintain and influence transport and mixing in oceans using a range of oceanographic platforms including ships, ROVs, AUV/gliders, UAVs and satellites.
