Kyle J. Turner, M.S.
Research Associate

Kyle joined the lab in January 2021 as a research scientist/bio-optics technician after completing his MSc degree at the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, where his thesis focused on evaluating and optimizing satellite algorithms to estimate phytoplankton community size structure along the northeast U.S. continental shelf. His scientific interests include satellite ocean color remote sensing, biogeochemical and bio-optical field data collection for algorithm development and validation, phytoplankton ecology, and changes in coastal and open-ocean environments in response to climate change and anthropogenic pressures.
